Ford Focus MK1 air con...

think that my air con is not working. As it is currentlyu cold in the uk it is difficult to tell. I have even turned the fan on, put it to HOT then turned the air con on to see if it cools, thus meaning that the air con IS working. But the air remains hot. I know there are many reasons why air con can stop working - blown fuse, leak, needs regassing etc etc. The air con light on the button still comes on when I press, but usually when you turn the air con on, you notice a slight dip in engine power when stationery, as the air con takes power from the engine, very much like when you turn your rear demister on. My gut feeling is therefore that the fuse has blown.. How do I know which is causing the problem? are there tell tell signs?? The fuse that controls the air con is relay fuse 11. before i buy a fuse, how do I tell what is causing it to not work? please help

Check the levels of your air conditioners freon. Could just be low. But since its not taking power, check a fuse, and if thats not it, check the condensor.
