Clutch issue on SVT

So today I was heading to work and at the end of my driveway I depressed the clutch pedal down and shifted in to first and the gears ground. Let off clutch pedal and it didn't come up.
I can grab the pedal and it will come back up but it freely drops back to the floor with out touching it.

SO I had to turn the car off and start it in gear to get it back to the house.
I did not have time to look at because it was pouring rain out, I had to leave for work and when I got home it was pitch black out.

Moved to General Tech Chat - Engine & trans Swap didn't look useful for this one.

Return spring not doing anything, but for the rest it could even be a broken off pin on the pedal lever so it's disconnected now.

Have to look at it more when you can, checking for leaks at both ends AND teh middle for that matter if the mechanicals are still hooked up.

Like Roger mentioned, have a look at underneath the dash for any brake fluid leaks & have a look at the carpet. The clutch is hydraulic which shares the brake master cylinder.

It's simple enough when you peek under there, particularly for the rod coming out of the master cyl. that slides over a pin on the side of the pedal lever.

Meh - no descriptions of what you DID see.

At the very least the return spring is broken and/or mostly missing.

Does the push rod from the master cyl. connect to the pedal?

Any drips? Any fluid on back/arm of pedal? (where it likes to drip)
