Assuming its the passenger window...hmmm.

There should be a flat section that goes across. Could you stick a Vacuum down there? Or Magnet of sorts, flexible, expendable?

I am not too familiar with the newer Foci, sorry.

A small investment will get it back.
1) Find a friend who knows how to disassemble your dash and feed him beer, and diner (etc) after things get back together... or
2) Buy a Ford Shop Manual (through Helms Inc). It will include all the tricks for removing the dash panels and disassembling the heat duct tubes. It will take a couple of new tools and a bit of time, but you'll get it back... or
3) Take it to a garage and pay several times as much.

Unfortunately, there is no shortcut to get to the heat ducts. They are behind the bash panel, up high.

It is possible (although unlikely) that you could take the car out to a big, empty/abandoned parking lot, and remove the bottom ducts, and run the car in tight circles (the tire screaming kind) one way, then flick it the other way, and back and forth, that the ring will pop out the bottom. You may need a bump while turning to dislodge it, but maybe not.

If it hasn't gone far (quite possible) another trick would be a borescope to see it & grabber tool to pull it out.

The scopes are rather inexpensive now that you can find them at Harbor Freight, so many mechanics have picked one up. Not just a fancy tool for Gun enthusiasts/gunsmiths or large auto shops only. But that means you need to have the right friend handy as mentioned above.

I'd even try with a mechanic's mirror & flashlight first, just to find out how far you can easily see down the duct as it turns sideways. (folding extension mirror - everyone who does much work has one or two, inexpensive)

Cabin filter wouldn't be anywhere near the area, it's in the intake air duct on the right and the HVAC unit is in the center of the car.

Air has to come in and go through the HVAC unit before going back out the top & over to the defrost duct outlet.

Did you figure out how to get the grill off the outlet?
