Electrical? Alternator?

Hey guys, I am still having the electrical issues (flickering lights) on my '04 Focus. I have a suspicion that it is because of a bad alternator (or at least a diode in it), since I have worked on all the grounds and stuff. Open to other ideas, though...
Anyway, I have an opportunity to buy a Visteon Alternator that a Focus owner is selling with 45,000 miles on it (the numbers that I can read on the label are: 137T-CD Visteon 030122 LOC3.1 [maybe?] GO 44-26).
I tried to google, but couldn't find it. Does anyone know if this is the OEM manufacturer of the Ford alternators?
My car is the '04 ZX3 2.3 Duratec, and I don't want to buy 'junk' but his price is really good.
Also, any good tips on changing these alternators? I've heard they are a BEAR.

I'd go for it John since you had it checked out & its putting out. It'd be great if you could get a new one, but not at those prices. Yea astarter is one thing= easy to get to & swap out, but the alternator is a hassl to swap out.

Finally broke down and bought brand-new alternator.
Original one WAS a Visteon!
I found out that they bought Ford's manufacturing plant and make the OEM alternators on the Ford equipment. In case anyone wants to know!
BTW- New alternator also fixed my flickering lights problem!

Visteon is the 2004 2.3 Ford OEM Alt.

Bear? Yeah, a little, but not too bad. Dropped mine out the bottom of my 2004 2.3 after disconnecting the trans/motor-mount (dogbone) without much problem at all. In retrospect, quite easy.

Edit: funny, I posted here without seeing/reading post#4 and #5 until after I posted this post#6. Nor did I see that this OP started 4-14-2016. Whoops! Me eyeballs need sleep I guess.

The flickering isn't really an alternator related issue. Since I got my svt 4 years ago I've always had flickering. I've put in two new batteries and 2 new alternators for unrelated circumstances and the issue has never been resolved
