Steering leaking I think

Hello,

I was under my car this weekend and it looked like there was a lot of oil or power steering fluid on the drivers side of the steering rack ( I think that's what it's called). What typically leaks first on these? Or what do I need to replace? It's a focus SVT and I have pictures attached, thanks

Get a look at the top to see if the seepage starts at the hose connections.

Gotcha, yeah I saw ford sold this assembly for 260, i'm guessing it's identical to the one from rock auto since it's motorcraft at rock auto http://parts.autonationfordwhitebear...d/2m5z3504aarm.

Mileage is a little over 100k. Any nice how to's for replacement ? Looks like quite a few parts need to come out ? Thanks

Will do thanks, are those for the power steering fluid I'm guessing? it looks like there are metal line connections with threads (PS Fluid?) and then the plastic/rubber connections (vaccum lines?) Hoping if I can just replace those instead of the entire assembly

In my view more like misting of fluid over long time period that may be harmless unless you are losing fluid. I wouldn't touch a thing until you find a live leak like sailor said, look where the lines go into the rack.

Start watching your power steering fluid level, if leaking it will show.
