2005 2.0L PCV hose.. tips on detaching the bottom clip without removing the intake?

I want to be able to change the hose without removing the intake manifold and I know it can be done from what I've read here.

I got the top clip fine.

The bottom clip is right above the starter. I can reach it with my hand, but I am not sure what tool I can use to squeeze the clip successfully.

Perhaps, remove the starter.

The hose cost $50. Someone posted here years ago that it's $16 or so. Has there been an engineering change besides "ease of installation" feature? the hose clamps are glued in place so they don't move around. They're pre-squeezed with retaining clips over the handles so you just slip the hoses and pop the retainer off to clamp it down.

Check Dorman's website for PCV hoses. I learned of this after the fact and could have saved a pretty good amount of money.

46034 is only for 2.3L. Anyways, I'm not worried about it. I'm concerned with how to get the bottom part of the hose off without taking the manifold out.

If your 2005 has a Zetec, look at Dorman parts for the 2002 (or other years in that range). That's what I had to do for my '03.

Edit: See if 46030 is it.

Perhaps a photo of it? If it is like my 04 I know how to get it off.

You need right angle needle nose pliers from what I've heard. I've also heard that the 06 models have a turn to release retainer, but the 05 is simply a rubber grommet. If that is the case, you should be able to pull the PCV straight out, disconnect the hose, and push it in without 90 degree needle nose pliers.

I presume that the work for the lower end ( intake mainfold connection) of the hose has to be done from under the car ( yes/no?) . Does the starter or anything else need to be removed for better access ? I sure hope that someone who has been successful at doing this job will reply with some tips and photos.

Picture of hose and clamp near PCV valve end looking between manifold runners for cylinders 3 and 4 ( 2005 Ford Focus Duratec 2.0 L engine). This one appears to be accessible with long reach angled needle nose pliers. ( I am still investigating the situation other end )
