2003 Focus sputter issue.

Hi, new to the Focus forum. I own a 2003 Ford 2.0 4 cyl with VIN letter P and currently have an issue with sputter in idle and drive. What I've done so far is...

1. Replaced old EGR tube...failed and cracked from engine.
2. Complete fluid and filter change except gas filter.
3. Spark plug change.
4. Wire Pack change but wires are my second pair, did not change those

Last diagnostic before pack and plug change was misfire on numbers 2 and 3. Since changing plugs today it sounds like a single misfire but have not had time to get a new diagnostic.

Engine check light remains on.

I have not driven all the gas out of the car, at the moment it stands at 1/2 tank.

Any help from here is most appreciated.

Misfire on 2&3 could be the wiring/connector to the coil pack instead of the Coils, fairly common problem.

Here's a link to a stickie on engine types, not sure of the VIN for what I'm guessing you have in there:Which Engine Does My Focus Have?
