2002 zx3 issues at higher speeds

I have a 02 zx3, and have noticed recently that when I get to around 65 mph I hear a rattle noise and feel vibration in my gas pedal and steering wheel. I don't feel it through any of my gears until I get to 65. I was told it might be the tie rod ends, but I'm trying to get other opinions on it before I start replacing parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If me, my first step would be, have a tire shop check all wheels for proper balance.

Walmart rotated mine a couple weeks ago, then next day had a 70-mph vibe. Returned and they said "whoops, sorry, outta balance". Duh, yeah, i knew that. Guess they knocked off a weight accidentally.

I could see how that may cause the vibration because that happened with my old car, but not sure if that would necessarily cause the noise I'm hearing along with it.

Vibration = noise.

You could have the tightest brand new car and wheel/tire imbalance could cause the symptoms (vibration) and noise.

Might also be something starting to loosen up, but since you get the noise ONLY when the imbalance is the likely cause, I'd address that first.

Ah! Plus noise! Missed that. Prolly something else then, but ya gotta check the wheel balance anyway... at some point. The exact type of noise helps left and right brain guess what it might be a little better.

Before guessing suspension parts, might wanna also consider stupid stuff like underside panels or heat-shields or... dunno.

Most shops would offer a Free underside/suspension inspection, which would be a good place to start.

Yep, hit "enter" within the same minute - still gotcha by a fraction (grin).

The wobbling wheel could vibrate a tie rod end for the noise, but also almost anything else loose. Should hear a loose joint on bumps as well if it's bad enough to need replacement, that's why I'm not worried about it first.

Good tight front end, struts & joints in good condition, DOES help dampen wobbles but it won't prevent them.
