I'm trying to figure out which vac hose your talking about. Is it this one?

Not sure about repair, but the entire hose can be replaced IF your leak is coming from the fitting/coupler on the hose AND IS NOT leaking on the mating receptacle on the firewall side.

BTW, I have always wondered about that hose because I have never put my hands on it on the firewall side. Goes too far into a dark abyss on my car and is hidden by heat shields and is also protected by a magical force field... i think?

Also never touched a 2005 ST, my comments are based on my 2004 2.3 engine.

That one gives you the power brakes, ends at the brake booster on the engine side of the firewall.

I can't think what hose the OP might be referring to.

Something doesn't add up here,
If the Brake Booster line is damaged, then why no mention of hard brake peddle? Or surging idle/stalling/loud sucking?

I think someone is getting lost following the line.

could be wrong

Yup, if damaged that bad you'd expect more symptoms.

The round black thing in your picture is the brake booster. it's mounted on the firewall but not part of it.

Notice the silver thing with the small pipes leading off of it to the right of the hose? That's your brake master cylinder.

Sounds like whatever you think is bad, isn't.
But here's the parts if you want to order them --> MASTER CYLINDER - COMPONENTS ON DASH PANEL for 2009 Ford Focus

*edit*
Just noticed you have an '05 and not an '09. But there aren't parts listed for the '05.
... I don't see why the '09 parts wouldn't work though. The grommet should be the same size and the hose size is the same for all Foci IIRC. Routing might be a bit different is all I could see.
