That was on my 03 with 40K miles. The 05 is my GF's car.
I called the dealer before I did this and my warranty expired after I hit 36K miles.

Help! I followed the directions given above but I still cannot remove the cylinder. The lock has been drilled and the bar has been removed. The button goes in when the key is turned to accessories but I can't get the cylinder to come out. What went wrong and what should I do?

original post stated "try to use wd-40 or some type of lube"

the better lube of choice is graphite lube or graphite spray.
Found at autozone or favorite local auto parts store.

The only thing holding the IC from coming out is the tab held in place with a spring.
Pushing a rod inside to hole should release it.

If you can turn it to the ACC and your radio comes on, it should come out if you pull the IC out while pushing in the button in the hole.

What are you using to push in the button in the hole ?
It does take some good pressure to push in that little button in the hole.

Also, how are you grabbing the IC to pull on it while pushing in the button ?

I had the ignition lock twice on me. They first time the dealer fixed it under my extended warranty. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty when I bought the car. They second time they replaced it with a different lock all together. They replaced it under the repair warranty because it happened a year to the day I had it fixed the first time. Pretty lucky because my extended warranty ran out. The new lock is awesome. They told me it's a brand new design and it should never break again.
