Question Best RPM to launch?

Hi,

I got a 02' Zetec 5 speed, and I was just wondering what the best RPM to launch at is?
Ive only launched it a couple of times and I find I get the best results lauching at about 4k rpms? Is this way to high?

It all depends on the car, the tires, track conditions and the individual driver. The best way to find out is to go to a test n tune nite at the track and make a bunch of runs. Change it up and watch your timeslips and you'll figure it out. The idea is to get the revs high enough to accellerate out of the hole and not bog, but not so high that the tires spin. I don't think I can even tell you where I launch as a rule, but within the first two runs of the night I can tell what's best. Practice makes perfect. ;)
