Fog Light Switch Issue

Ok so here is the deal... I realize in order to turn on the fog lights you gotta turn the lights on and pull the switch. But mine doesn't pull out. (Hold your laughter). Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking maybe someone put the wrong switch in there or something. It has minimum play when trying to pull on it. But nothing happens. Please help!!

Welcome to FF!

Thinking the car might be new to you since you just joined up here.

Does the switch have a fog light symbol on it? It's an extra symbol besides the Off, Running light, headlight symbols. Looks like the headlight symbol but with a slash thru the angled "light beam" hash marks.

Could be a prev. owner either didn't complete an install, or substituted a std. switch when the fog switch gave up if you don't see that.

It should be easy to tell if the switch is the correct type by the markings on it. Pics in this thread:

Switch is broken internally if it presents any kind of resistance when you try to pull it out when it's in the "proper" position. Replace the switch assembly or remove it and attempt to fix it after pulling it apart.

Edit: Sailor beat me to it.

No it sure doesn't. How would I go about replacing that whole thing?

I had the same problem. Had fog lights but not switch. It's really easy like a 5 min job. I went on eBay and ordered the switch with fog light pull out for like 20 bucks. Then when it came I installed it and they worked. You also have to add a black relay in the fog light port under the hood.
