All they got was a rebuilt head and sent down the road again
From your pictures it doesn't even look like you have bent valves , it looks like they are seated in the picture
I still suspect there was something foreign floating around in the motor and that's what caused the damage

AMC49 states that your motor in non interference , so even if the belt completely came off its impossible for the pistons to contact the valves

Look at the black valve to the right, around 12:00 to 2:30 at the outside perimeter, those small rough edges are signs of pieces of seat pinched while trying to get out, the valve there is junk. Also a dent in its' edge.

I'm sure lots of these get head only and go on their merry way. I'm just as sure that quite a few of them have no attention paid to the detail work around piston damage issues and later ring lands crack loose or piston breaks up to bring motor down for other reasons. Too many just gloss over the piston damage issues when they find out how much more difficult it makes the job. You can get away with a little dinging but once it gets bigger or approaches the outer 1/4" of piston edge the brittle piston will crack to fail later, and what cast pistons do. And they commonly crack underneath where can't be seen unless pulled too. If that, the crack is almost ALWAYS really bad, no small amount there. If cracked below then kiss the rod goodbye as well. Don't matter how straight you swear it looks.
