Yeah I was thinking it was a piece connecting to the outer door handle. And I probably shouldn't have said "rip" haha. I was thinking it should be pretty self explanatory once you see it that you can pull the interior water shield off by grabbing the edges and carefully pulling it away from the gooey black adhesive so you can put it back on when your done. My bad.

Thank you for the suggestion. I was wondering about that adhesive if I would need to replace it or not after install. No one ever said different. Thank you!

My reinforcement bracket did not come with any piece inside if the plastic part that moves up and down on the spring. I thought it looked odd when opened it after I purchased it but couldn't think of why. In the video I linked earlier there is a yellow piece in that arm. Mine does not have anything in there.....

Smile

I just fixed the reinforcement bracket. It was not bad at all. It took about an hour and half to fully finish the job.

The original piece was a crappy plastic arm that broke. The new piece for my '07 was all metal which is nice. I am thinking of just replacing the passenger side with a new one as well. It is starting to feel a bit "tense" when we open that door.

I appreciate all of the help from this forum. I'm very thankful not only for the advice, but for a fully operational door again!!!

Thank you!
