foc 2000 zx3 ztec what is this vacuum hose for ?

OK, Here it is, I have this vacuum hose on the back of my engine that is pinshed when the engine is on. I wonder what this is for, And should I replace it with something stronger than this hose... also, I think I have a vacuum leak coming from it... so, I have to replace it anyway... but, Still curious What is it for...

Also, I need to look at the fuel filter, Can anyone tell me where it is on these models please?

That hose looks like the pcv hose. It should go under the egr and below the thermostat house and wrap around the front of the motor to the pcv valve itself.

Fuel filter is right by the gas tank, small round cylinder with a single strap around it. It'll be in a nook by the gas tank towards the motor.

thank you for this answer... But, this hose Goes right under the distributer tie on a metal tube and stop right under the distributer where I can not say where it stopped. both place, (Where is starts under the TB and where it ties on the metal pipe) are unreachable for my Phone camera... but, anyway, Should I worry for a blockage somewhere since the hose is pinching itself as soon as the engine is on?

If the hose is collapsing then it is blocking air flow. It could cause idle issues such as surging/hunting idle, but I could be wrong. Never seen these motors with a dizzy, so may want to wait on someone else to confirm or not if that is the pcv hose. From what i've seen the pcv hoses are notorious for wearing down and collapsing , causing idle issues.

Yes, PCV hose. Yes, change it if collapsing.

No distributor on car, that's a coil pack. Parts store people gonna look at you funny if you say distributor while asking for parts.

^^^this. Oh, yes the infamous PCV hose. You can find them online. I snagged mine at dealership, a bit more but it was in stock and has a heat shield on it.

now, the question is... How do I remove this hose from there without ripping the metal tube apart, Even if there is no clamp or attrachment there... and from under the TB, There is a clamp... it's a pressure fited clamp... Do I need to undo somethiong or do I just break the clamp and put an ordinary flange back when I put the new hose there... I just tried to replace it with some fuel hose I had here... not able to remove the old hose from there....

I know this is kinda old but the ford part number I have is 9d289. I will hopefully be checking with ford to make sure it's the right part number Saturday if not Monday.
The ford replacement part is made better with a heat shield and seems thicker and of a more sturdy material then the original part.
