Pass Door won't stay completely closed

Just recently the pass door on my 2007 SE 3 door won't stay completely closed. I thought it was just getting hard to close or was sagging, so I started to do a little testing. I closed the door from the outside and made sure it was all the way closed (completely fkush the whole periometer of the door). I then drove to work and noticed that I could hear the wind noise like it was not all the way shut. I checked when I got to work and the door was away from being all the way shut about 1/4 inch. It appears to be perfectly parrallel to the door frame still, not like it is bent or out of alignment.

It seems like it is actually working its way loose as I drive. It was very quiet (no wind noise) the first portion of my drive but got louder and louder as I drove.

Any ideas?

Yep, get some wd-40 or motorcraft lock lubricant and spray the latch and a tiny bit into the outside door handle, open and close a few times and repeat until it latches properly... It's how I fixed mine, also works great on the hatch/trunk motor when it starts acting up...

First time it happend to me the door swung wide open when I hit my brakes at 70+ mph (I was on the interstate) thankfully I was in the passenger lane (mine was also the passenger door) so there was no cars around to hit it... Now I'm sure to check it and lube it regularly...

I will try this on my pass door and hatch (it won't close as easily as it used to) and the drivers door before it starts acting up.

Wait till that WD40 congeals up into bubblegum and then acts like glue.........bad longterm choice there. Spray lithium grease better. Shake the can WELL or you only get carrier and not grease.

Door adjustment slightly off to not double latch the door, latch sticking or broken and not double latching.

Agreed with above post. WD 40 is not a good idea. The spray lithium is better. The handles on these cars are total crap and really annoy me. (I've had my bad experiences)

White lithium did not help. I looked further, tugged and prodded deeper into the door latch and the striker, and buyah (pronounced boo-yaw lol), the striker moved ever so slightly.

The darn striker was loose! Tightened it up and problem is solved! I gave the driver door about a 1/4 turn tightening for good measure also.

I did check it quickly at first and it did not move. I guess I must not have pushed on it hard enough.
