Take it this is one of those things I will just have to leave as is I cant seem to find any anywhere ! Unless the knob is the same as the ones for adjusting seats ?

 

I had the same problem, Ford has a replacement part for this (or at least they had in 2011)

 

I enquired about this, and they came back to me with a part they believe I am after, 2A767, which is a spacer that goes inside. It very well looks like that is needed to hold it tightly into position, but I thought id do 1 last check on here before I proceed.

 

I think you will need the next part outwards as well, the shaft, the spare I got had the knob, shaft,and spacer as one part, but I can not find the partnumber..

Parts arrived, looks like I only needed the adapter, which has now been fitted but ..... I have no idea what its actual use is now ? I assumed it was for moving the arm back and forward, but all it seems to do is tighten up or loosen. Am I being completely thick and missing something obvious ?

Its snugly fitted, and twists around until a certain point where it goes no further, but doesn't seem to affect anything with the arm rest.

It never worked when I got the car, as it was broken from day 1, now its fixed, I don't even know what it does !

 

It for adjusting the lower back support, if you sit in the seat and press your back agaist the seatback and rotate the wheel you will feel it, dont use to much force, then it will break again...

 

Just tried it, so it is ! This will make driving nicer So that's finally fixed, thanks again for the help !
