New Owner HELP! Neutral Safety Switch

So I just bought my 2000 ZX3 and I love it, I have to get it saftied to completely transfer it to my name. There are a few small things wrong that are no big deal for me to fix. The problem is that the PO disabled the clutch position switch by unplugging it because it apparently wasn't working right. I can't find the plug underneath the dash anywhere. Does anyone know where it ends up so that I can trace it back?

The neutral safety switch on a 2000 manual is a simple switch that when closed (i.e. the clutch is depressed) completes a circuit between the PCM (under passenger side kick panel) and the starter relay (in passenger compartment fuse panel). The single wire involved in the circuit is black/red.

Thanks, I tried to see what I could find under there and its just way to tight for me to do anything. Taking it to another shop to see if they will hopefully ignore the issue (not really safety related in my opinion) if not I'll just pay to have it fixed. Thanks again

Hope it works out for you!

The pigtail for the connector likely has a paper clip (or similar) stuck in it to close the circuit, then taped up & secured out of the way. That makes it difficult for anyone but the person who did it to find the thing!

Luck!

This is how mine is lol

I can start the car in gear and it literially just takes off. I hate to think what would happen if I had remote start and left it in gear.

The wires are spliced and tied together on mine... They, as said above, are black and red... Previous owner did it, I have no idea why, faulty switch I imagine...
