Transmission Earth Lead

I have just changed my clutch and flywheel on my 1.8 tdci, put everything back together and has all gone ok. Apart from one thing, the main earth lead from the battery, i cant remember where it is meant to be attached, im guessing somewhere on the transmission, i have bolted to what i thought looks like where it should go, but when i got to start the engine the starter motor has no power going to it. Im guessing its not earthed correctly. Can any one give me advice on where exactly it goes?

Thanks
