Does anyone have a how to for removing the gauge cluster in a 2002 Wagon? It has no tach if that makes a difference...

let me try and explain the best i can. there are 3 bolt on the upper lip of the gauge trim. remove those, then use a flathead screwdriver to pry around the trim. there are 4 clips in total i believe. Once those clips are done, the trim will be able to come off (make sure to unplug the trunk release button). Now, There are 4 bolts holding the actual gauge cluster in, and just undo these with your socket wrench, or whatever tool you choose to use to remove the bolts. now all you gotta do is remove the harness on the back. there is a little lever type thing you lift over the back of the harness, and it should come off. (that last part is really hard to explain, but i think there is also a how to somewhere around here). in total, it isn't very hard at all. This last summer I did it a ton with different gauge mods and got it down to probably 5 minutes out and 5 back in.

Thanks! This should be enough for me to figure it out. Do you know what kind of bulbs I will need to use to replace the check engine light and such?

if i remember correctly, CEL, blinker, battery, etc are all t5 bulbs. to get those suckers out is a pain, have a pliers ready to twist the little knob. the ones that do the main illumination are t10 bulbs. these are the LED reference sizes, and i do recommend going to leds in em. are you just changing lights or changing the color of the gauge?

if you plan to do that, it's alot more work lol. there is a green film (as you may know) on the back of the gauge face, which needs sanding off. same as the odometer, the green needs to be sanded off to let another color through. to do the gauge face, you gotta remove the needles and literally peel the gauge face off and sand the green off, then put a different color t10 bulb in the previous slots where white bulbs were. there are how to's around here for both. they take some time but look amazing IMO.

the odometer has been done too and matches in red

I would love to do it in blue! It would just make the car look so much more modern. Not sure if I want to go to all the trouble though, especially when I don't even have a tach...

i don't have it either! you could go to a wrecking yard and maybe find one with one, or ebay has a few. just make sure to write down the difference in mileage because the odometer is saved to each cluster. i got a little 52mm aftermarket tach i use, but wanna get a factory tach one of these days. just waiting for one with close enough mileage to where i can drive it til they match lol

You may find that your CEL lamp is a L.E.D. and not a bulb. It will have to be desoldered from the circuit board to be replaced. LEDs have 'polarity' so it will have to be reinstalled correctly to work.
