maf pinout for mk1 focus

i have a mk1 1.4l se focus 20001 (of the line in 1998) which i bought but the maf sensor was done so i got a new one but it is a 6 pin instead of 4 pin i can wire it in but i need to no what the wires are on the harness the Haynes manual just tells me where to put them on the harness not the actual maf sensor
can any one help
the colours from left to right are

white and green,
green and yellow
white and violet
brown and green

I gotta say it, it is silly to rewire a car part when the correct part is available. You don't even know if the voltage ranges are the same, meaning even if wired back up correctly part will not work....................

it is the correct part as far as i can see when i ordered it it was a replacement for the specific reg of the car i was also a replacement for the original oem model the 6 pin just has the iat sensor integrated also i cant find the 4 pin ones over in ireland so that is all i can do

I would try to find the same part, but here is what the diagram says:

black/orange-ground
brown/white- power feed for temp sensor
white/violet- signal return from temp sensor

The other three wires just go back to the ecu and are not labeled on the diagram.
The diagrams I have probably don't apply to your car anyhow, the wire colors are different.

You could mess around with an ohm meter and figure out the pinouts on the old sensor and the new one.
