HELP!! Vibration in front suspension/engine
Hey everyone I am trying to diagnose an issue with my 04' ZX3. When you drive it around there is a lot of vibration that comes through the steering wheel and seems to shake the interior pretty bad. I find thought about something going bad in the suspension but it does not pull to any one side and drives straight. It almost sounds like something is rubbing, but when you push in the clutch, the vibration goes away. I drive 130 miles round trip for work and the car feels unsafe to drive.

I took it up to my local suspension shop and they looked at the entire suspension and did not find any worn out parts. The car sometimes idles really rough and shakes the change in my ash tray too.

It has new plugs, wires, and coil pack. What should I look at next? The car has a little over 132,000 miles on it. A buddy of mine suggested motor or trans mounts worn out? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Wow, 119 people viewed this and not one comment or opinion?

well...I imagine most people are thinking "motor mount" or "clutch", but your description is a little thin.

Was the clutch replaced recently? Motor mounts are a frequent topic of discussion here, and replacing them solves alot of folks' problems. My mounts were bad enuf that all the cars in my rearview mirror were doing the boogie, so if you've eliminated other sources of a rough idle (like a vacuum leak), then mounts might be a good place to start; with your vehicle's mileage/age, they're gonna need to be replaced eventually anyway.
