- - no spark

OK - 2003 SPI. Replaced engine with rebuilt model. Everything hooked up. Engine cranks, but will not fire. Not cranking slowly, normal. No spark from spark plug when removed and held close to manifold while cranking. Little bit crazy cuz it was running in another car. Is there ground strap other than the one that goes to the one bolt on the starter/block/bellhousing? Not sure where to start. Everything was working in other car. Can hear the fuel pump pressurize when key is turned on. What do I do?

Did you check the plug going into the coil and check the coil as well? Also not 100% sure on this but thought I remembered the crank shaft position sensor could be responsible for spark output and not just timing as well, depending on control module.

wondered about that. I had to splice the crankshaft position sensor wiring into the harness. the plug in the middle that joined the wire(s) to the harness was broken so I simply wired the wires together in one of those crimp connectors.

Solder it ASAP

Well i worked on it again and worked on those wires again. Nothing. So i had my son turn the key as I looked. The lower damper/pulley seems to be bent and/or on crooked, as it has a little back and forth motion as it turns. Could this small irregular movement be sending a bad signal to the cps which causes no spark? I dont know how/why it may be bent, but it seems to be moving fore/aft a little as it turns.

is there a way to check if the cps is functional?

Do you have any OBDII diagnostic scanners? If you have a descent one you should be able to read the crank sensot signal.
