I've been having a problem with the rear latch not closing all the way...I ordered a new one from ebay and installed it and that one is not catch neither. I hear it click when I push the remote but I dont see the actual lock where it catches move.

It should latch without the key fob or push button up front working. I think maybe something has happened to make the latch not lined up with the catch. Look at your hatch hinges, see if something there might give you a clue. Usually, the hatch itself is the reason why the latch won't line up with the catch.

On three and five door models, the latch can be adjusted in case it isn't lining up right again. I assume the wagon's can be moved too.

Yep, you can move everything on wagon too. The pin that mounts on middle of bumper area has a plastic cover that wears off in use when door fit gets looser. Often that lets latch not work since assembly not as dimensionally tight as before. Moving bumper part slightly around can often pick the needed distancing back up to work correctly. You want it loose enough so that latch catches fully to double latch, but tight enough so that door is pulled into seals, if not, door then begins to rattle. The seal not only seals out water and exhaust stream but shock absorbs the door.

It should latch properly- be very careful to be sure of that no matter what you do. A partially open rear hatch will allow CO and CO2 into the cabin, and that will cause you to get sleepy on long trips. A long time ago that happened to my sister. I had called her to say hello, and she complained about getting very sleepy on her 30 min trips home from work. As soon as she got home, she was wide awake, she said- weird, huh? Knowing that the hatch had been replaced recently due to a minor accident, I asked her to do an experiment for me- crack both windows on her side when driving home. Of course, she didn't feel sleepy any more, and we had the hatch fixed.

Correct. It should actually DOUBLE latch, two distinct lockings going on there. I've been in that CO situation before too. After working 12-16 hours, 7 days a week. The car had rear hatch that did not lock all the way, no rattling. I started getting strange headaches that only happened on the long 45 minute drive to or from work. Found the latch only catching the first detent, the second was not happening and rear hatch seal not sealed tight. Re-adjusted latch/catch to pull hatch up tight and no more headaches.
