Dealer installed a factory issue original unit in my wife's car today. Radio worked fine but the cd player would not play any cd. Is there a code that must be put in or something else? Any ideas?
Not really they don't lend themselves to the abuse of shipping. A tech that has never installed one may not know to unlock the laser from it's shipping position.
as above, they just go out over time. and shipping is not your friend with some electronics.
Don't know your exact situation, but you can always go aftermarket. can be done fairly inexpensive depending on what you want out of it. and this can give you more capabilities like aux in, ipod, usb, BT. . .
Thanks for the info. It's for my wife's car and she used to 'occasionally' listen to cd's. $400 for a stock replacement did seem a bit steep too. What price for a used one?
Kipp or anyone else. Do you know what wiring harness to buy so I can hook up aftermarket where my audiphile 9006 premuim was?? I want to do a plug and play and keep the amp!!
there is only an amp if you have the factory sub. the speakers are not amped. You'll need the three parts below for the install (dash kit, harness, antenna adapter).
If you do have the factory sub then you will also need to get a male rca end to hook it up. there is a third plug that has the signal and turn-on wires in it that you connect to. there isn't an adapter made for it so it has to be spliced in to the factory harness.
elsolo's stereo works great! A steal for the price. A happy Focus driver once again!
