Car Won't Start

This problem has been intermittent for some time now. The last time I had trouble with this was about a year ago and it just started happening again. So basically my car's security system is locking me out from starting the car. No only the airbag and oil light illuminates very dimly on the dash and the security light is either flashing or stays lit. Also I hear a relay in the firewall making a clicking sound very rapidly. The only way I can try to get it started is taking the positive terminal off and putting it back on. But sometimes after I do that and I go to start it all the accessory lights come on the dash but when I push in the clutch and try to start it, it just clicks and goes back to the locked mode. (I noticed too when I try to start it after I take the terminal off the post there's a large spark on the positive terminal.) But after I repeat this process it eventually works, sometimes faster than others. I have no idea what is wrong with it. Maybe the PATS system inside the key? Maybe the security system itself? Bad relay perhaps? PLEASE HELP.

(sorry for the lengthy description)

Check your battery voltage, and all the battery connections, including the grounds. this may explain the dim lights in the cluster. The spark that you see is the systems that are energized when you reconnect the battery, if you leave the key in the run position when you disconnect it.

X2. May be as simple as a weak battery.

I had this problem, exactly as described, including the sound of rapidly switching relay.

I'm having this issue currently. It started when u have someone a jump. My car then wouldn't start. It would crank and crank And crank but wouldn't start. Then it started to do as you described to a T

Any help on diagnosis would be greatly appreciated. I did figure out which relay was clicking. It's the battery saver relay
