It's not the load on them, but the corrosion from the winter salt that seeps in that's the issue.

Those are a BIT protected, but still up front where the crap gets in. On exposed wires I've gone so far as to solder, paint with liquid tape (rubber paint) then shrink wrap tubing & STILL get corroded wires after a year on the Big Truck....

The Automotive environment isn't as severe, but you do what you can to prevent future issues.... Heck, twisting & taping sometimes lasts as long, just because if you DON'T get a good seal you are just sealing in the moisture so it never dries....

On that silly mirror I could SEE that the wires were reversed since they were exposed where they went into the plug and were opposite of the car's wiring. Knowing it had been replaced, the obvious culprit was the mirror assembly.... Can't trust replacements 'till you check 'em out....

Thanks very much for the offer I really appreciate it :). I am going to try to change out my clutch master cylinder this weekend which has been slowly leaking on me so I will put off the headlight until that is fixed but after I will let you know for sure if i need a good old solder job.

Sorry for late response it turned out my issue was the wiring was reversed, I took a test light and checked which wire was live for low and high on the good headlight and saw that the wire was reversed.
I cut the wires and switched them the right way and everything was working great and my headlights were ok so I just had to adjust the problem headlight to match the other side and I can say it is nice to drive with both lights on the road lol.
