P0772 "Shift Solenoid E Stuck On"- Does this really mean the E solenoid is bad?

Need some help from someone that knows Ford Transmissions: Have a 2006 Ford Focus with automatic transmission (4 Cyl). It has 104K miles on it. (Tranny Numbers are 6S4P-7000-FA-PVAF and A-4920-021205-53360256.)

Tranny started acting up with problems shifting and went into "limp home mode" with the "O/D Amber Light" flashing. Got the code read and code is P0772 which reads "Shift Solenoid E Stuck On".

My question is this: Is the code correct and do I only have to replace the "E" solenoid? Other postings state that the "A" solenoid is usually the culprit. Should I replace the "A & E"? Or is it possible that the solenoids are good and the real problem is that the "control valve is stuck"? Is the control valve a check valve that is causing the solenoid to stay on? If so, will the entire tranny have to be pulled and dismantled to fix it?

Any help from a Ford expert would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Pan removal is all that's needed to replace solenoids, if I was doing it I'd replace 'em all as long as I was in there....

Just for the "halibut"....
