My 2000 Ford Focus wont crank up

Hey guys i have a 2000 Ford Focus SE, One day when i was about to head out to school my pushed in the clutch and turned the key; NOTHING happened. So i checked the clutch switch and it's fine. I left with my grandma for school. That next day assuming it was the starter i bought a starter put it on, still NOTHING. I have no idea what happened all i remember is that the day before my car stumbled to start up.

I have no clue as to what could have caused this i really need it up and running again because im In a very important marching band program down here in South Florida/ Broward County.

When i turn my key the fuel pumps start up and all lights etc.

PLEASE HELP!!

Many things could cause this , do you have ------- in the odometer , how did you check the clutch switch ? have you tried jumping it ? Small ground wire beside the Batt if off wont let the starter kick in

Low Batt voltage ? Fuses

Tom

Jump the neutral safety switch at the top of the clutch pedal as Tom suggested; that's the easiest one to check first. Pumping the clutch pedal sometimes works to free it up if it's stuck or not making proper electrical contact somehow.
What's the PATS light doing during an attempted start?

i didnt find small black wire. There are like three connected to the ground from the battery is it one of these? one of them leads from the battery, to behind it and down into the engine bay. Might this be it?

Did you try jumping the clutch safety switch yet? Pull the plug off and run a little wire between the plug sockets. Just make sure you don't start it in gear and hurt somebody.
