Recommendations to use alternative fluids are not appropriate and damage may result. Read your Operator's Manual in the glove box. If you don't have one, order one at the dealer or on ebay. It tells you what fluids to use. There are people on this forum that don't know a thing about lubricants aside from them being slippery, but they choose to recommend alternate products without any technical basis or understanding. This is really dangerous.
To say to use the same fluids as recommended by Ford to an application that now makes more load / Torque is also foolish , to say that means every trans used for racing should have there stock production by year fliuds in them ??? that what you have said above ???

You must work for Ford or have Ford stock , order a new owners manual , order fluids from Ford LOL

This guy is blowing smoke , I am sorry been doing this to long with no issues to believe one word of this and now some of you are draining your fluids because of what this guy is saying , do your own checking , see what has worked for others

Lets do this , everyone post

What trans , MTX-75 or SVT
What trans fluid you use
How many miles
Issues ?

I will start

SVT
Mobile engine oil 50wt Syn
54,000 miles
No issues

MTX-75
Mobile engine oil 50wt Syn
150,000 miles
No issues

Lets see who has what and if they have had issues this will answer a lot of questions for everyone , some one could even start a post for this

Tom

awesome thread, and I got here just in time, I dropped my tranny in order to change my clutch, I bought the car used with 45k miles sadly the last owner screwed the clutch on the car hence the premature change, well the deal is that I have the motorcraft oil here ready to be used, or should I try the 15/50 motor oil?

also Im in mexico, a qt of the ford lube costd me 7 bucks, I tried looking for royal purple and redline stuff here but no luck at all..

mobil 1 is available thou, should I use any particular brand?

the car is stock, I use it as DD and twice a month to race for about 1-2hours

thanks for the replies!

The Ford Full synthetic is only $7? I would run either the Ford Honey, or 15w-50 Mobil 1. Likely the cost will come out to about 11's. Between the two pick the lower cost option.

The ford honey is another "term" to identify the ford full synthetic.
