Question Rear Brake Shoes

Is there much/any difference, other than price, between Ford-branded and Motorcraft rear brake shoes for a 2000 ZX3?

Thanks. I only ask because the price differential is ridiculous. My dealer wants over $140 for the Fords. I can get the Motorcrafts for $35 or so from Rock Auto. If there was a $100 difference in performance...

you only get 30% out of rear brake force and 70% in front so the rear shoes go with the cheaper ones

Since Motorcraft IS the "Ford" brand, and what the dealer sells you will be in a Motorcraft box....

YEAH - buy from the cheaper source.

As a Ford parts guy mentioned to me, Wal-Mart sells Motorcraft Oil & filters cheaper than HE can buy them from Ford....

Go Figure...

Thanks guys. It's about time to get in there and clean everything out. Is there any need to replace the springs or other hardware? I'm looking for another 100,000 miles out of this car.

I was just going to get the Autozone ones for just over $20 when I hit 100,000....

I'm almost there, so I'll replace them if they need it or not.....

Plus there's a lifetime warranty, so when I hit 200,000 they'll be free....

Replace the wheel cylinders while you're at it......
