Hey Jaclyn do you know when this update will be applied to cars at the factory. My wife and I will probably be ordering one in the next week or two.

I had another crash the other day. The only response I was able to get from the unit was to turn the volume up/down on the center console (not the MFT screen). This is only my fourth crash since I got the car, and I am still thrilled with the MFT system. Eagerly awaiting the update, but I still am very glad that I went with the MFT system when I did.

I'm pretty sure all my MFT problems are Bluetooth related. I uninstalled our phones and have not had a incident since. Anyone else tried this?

How do I get this update? I drove 5hrs with the black screen. I tried to take off what a though was the fuse panel, (some plastic cover in the passenger side), but it wasn't it. I then found pictures on here showing how to get to the fuse box, but I didn't have anyway to pull this fuse.

This morning however when I turned the car on the screen was working again, but i tried many times to turn the car off and on and it didn't do anything, luckily I knew where I was driving to. Frustrating!

This update will not make any changes to the radio on default at start up.

The update can be performed at any Ford dealership. This should help with the concern you're having and is expected to be available at the end of next week! I'll post more info when I have an exact date.

Jaclyn,

Do you know what the build number will be? I informed my dealer about the problem and he said to take it in and they will perform an update. I don't see any reason to do that however if they don't have the latest update. I would rather verify on the phone that they have this newest release than drive in.

I don't understand why this firmware isn't pushed over the sirus connection or something though to all units however?? If directv can push updates to all receivers I would think you guys could adopt something like that. Or at least allow us to update it via usb for those with the know how.

Thank you.

A quick fix to the radio always on at start-up is to turn the volume all the way down before you turn off the car the next time you get in the car the radio volume will still be all the way low and essentially be like if you were to turn off the radio.

That's not actually a fix.
So far, one week old, two freezes, stupid radio
issues over and above the power on, the MFT
lack of functionality is a safety issue due to
distraction. Oh, and iPhone Bluetooth connection
comes and goes. Not impressed at all.
