Whoa! You definitely had the worst case scenario I feared.

Sync is basically a laptop computer. Every computer has a hard reset button and the sync system needs one! I thought the power button next to the volume dial was, but it turns out its just a soft control. I can hear the engineers debating during design.... "We don't need one of those, this computer will never crash"

Thanks for the help tip Natasha. Next time I run into something, I will give your Tech Team a call. The problems have not been frequent or consistent enough to invest time troubleshooting yet. (It's working fine 80% of the time and I have been able to impress some with successful demos.)

it's basically a hard reset.

like when a home computer isnt responding and even they you try to shut it down, you can only get it to happen by pulling the power.

thanks misfire, I will try that tomorrow see if that does anything at all. Sorry for the extra thread wasn't sure if this one would get noticed.

Also, glad to hear that they are indeed working on an update to resolve these issues. I actually read on the Detroit News

http://www.detnews.com/article/20110...-for-cars--too

that they were working on an update to be released next month in any case as long as they are aware of the problem and looking to fix it I am OK with that. thanks again

Bring on the update! Everytime this thing freezes up I wish I hadn't splurged for all the bells and whistles. If the update fixes things I'll be a happy camper.
