burnt out Ignition coil after 20,000 Miles
I own a 2002 focus lx. I was driving home from work the other day and my car started to miss fire making the ride a bit jerky and uncomfortable. Not to mention the lack of power!!! I taught this would have been due to dirty fuel or a faulty fuel pump (as I have heard about the recalls). I brought it in to my local dealer and they diagnosed the problem to be a burnt out Ignition coil. They must have been right because I got it replaces along with a set of new spark plugs and all is running sweet now. €200 it cost me. I was ten days out of warranty
What really pissed me of is the fact there is only 20,000 miles on the car. What the hell is going on I taught this car was meant to be reliable!!
What would have made this happen to the Ignition coil?
And is there anyone else who had a similar problem?
