P0772 Code

Hey everyone, new to the forum, hope I can get some help.

Yesterday my 05 Focus threw a P0772 code. It started shifting hard when going from second to third gear.

My question is, I know there are six Solenoids on the transmission, but I have called three different Ford part dealers and none of them can tell me which one E is.

Anyone here ever had this problem? If so, which one is E?
Thanks -j

I have a little "hiccup" in the tranny. I am trying to isolate it. I think it is mostly when the car downshifts from 3rd to 2nd or from 2nd to 1st. it happens when I am going slow and decreasing speed. the i step on the gas to pick up speed and the car downshifts but sometimes there is a hiccup/rough shift . In order to try and solve this issue I I dropped my tranny pan and changed the filter and pumped out the rest of the fluid one quart at a time. so I ended up replacing all the fluid with Mercon V.

I found this thread and wonder if I could be having a solenoid issue and if so how tough it is to change them and how much do they cost....thoughts?

bump. similar issue in a 2001 SE Wagon. No reverse. Is there a way to test the solenoid or just replace and cross your fingers?
