VCT issue?

Go figure, when I try to sell the car something goes wrong.

I have an 03 SVT. I replaced the valve cover gasket myself and now the car bogs down under any load. The only exception is when i give it alot of gas and keep above 3k on the tach.

It drives, but barely makes it off the line and i've yet to throw a CEL. The car is currently sitting in my garage, waiting for some lovin'.

I replaced the CAT, due to the fact that I was getting a sulfurous smell when i let the car idle for a while, and the fact that the header was getting very warm. I figured the CAT was clogged, indifferent to the gasket replacement- purely coincidental? Air was also popping out of the intake, indicating exhaust wasn't fully functional.

That didn't do the trick.

What should I try next? Could I have messed with the VCT system in taking the valve cover off? That would explain the bogging.

It sounds like I may have more than one issue here. Maybe the exhaust issue is independent of the bogging issue?

Any intelligent thoughts guys?

Thanks in advance.
