What is the oil capacity on the Zetec?

in my owners manual it states somethign like 3.65 litres, but when I filled it yesterday with M1 synthetic, I've easily added over 4 litres?!?!?!

also, my Haynes says that the capacity is 4.5 litres?!?! why the descrepancy?

yes, but quarts = litres (they're close enough not to really matter)

or fill until full. different oil filters have different volumes.
but deffinatly over 4qts.

wow, with a capacity like that and a good oil like Mobil 1 I should easily be able to push 20k mile OCI's!
