I don't know why we didn't sticky this one, I forgot how Chad wanted to do it, so I'll sticky this thread and ask him.
I called NAPA Auto Parts which is where I bought the filter kit from and the o-ring doesn't even come with the kit which is why I didn't replace it because I didn't know about that. So I called Ford and the filter kit they sell comes with the o-ring but not the gasket they just use the silicone. I'm going to pick up the filter from Ford and put it in and see how it goes from there.

I'm thinking that when I removed the old filter the ro-ring cam off with it and I put the new filter on without it. So the filter is probably loose and sucking in air, causeing it to slip. Atleast I hope that's what happened.

Nice write up. Rather than use the pan gasket seal they give you, buy a tube of RTV instead. Those cork gaskets are usually pretty crappy.

I have read my Mitchell on Demand manual ant for transmision 4f27e doesn't say to unplug the cooler lines, however it says it for other transmissions.

At the same time It says that the system if filled with a lot more transmission fluid, is it mistaken? or flushing the system this way doesn't empty the whole system?

Thank you

Went to change my fluid and filter this morning and couldn't even get the feed/return lines off. I got the clips off, the hoses would just not budge without breaking something or cutting the lines.. Any tricks? Anyone else have this problem?

I'm with xSHIFT. I got the clips off, but the feed/ return lines will absolutley not come off. Any tips or trick to it? I'm about to just cut the damn line and buy a new one.

You're supposed to push the tab in, push the line's end towards the cooler, then pull back to remove the lines from the cooler. I'll look it up later to be positive since I'm relying on memory. The guy who started this thread had never done anything like this before.
