Driver Side Door Exterior Handle not working...

I've seen several posts talking about the exterior door handle "linkage" busting... (ex. Door handle won't open from outside (Linkage broken))

My outside handle does not work, but the interior handle works fine...

I haven't been able to make much progress in my research of exactly what part I may need. Are there publicly available diagrams of the power lock / door handle system that I can try and figure out EXACTLY what part needs replaced, instead of paying the Ford garage $250 for parts and labor?

Any help is much appreciated.

take your door apart. pull back your insulation and check if everything is hooked up.

Well, I guess I should have mentioned, I did do that... and the linkage and outside door handle definately are not connected anymore... :)

I'm going to take off the passenger side door panel tonight to compare the 2 sides figure out exactly which piece is broke off, but with it being in the upper corner of the door, it's kind of a pain to see exactly what I need to be looking at.

maggot515, thanks for your reply... you wouldn't happen to have any links to where I could order the parts (depending on what I find tonight) would you?

Yah, I guess that'd be the best bet... I'll just try to take the handle assembly out this weekend. Thanks for everybody's input!
