Rear wiper motor...anyone else have this problem?
I'm on my third rear wiper motor in as many years of having the it just me, or is this a serious design flaw? From the one that just stopped working, it appears that water works its way down the shaft and corrodes the housing, which either fuses the shaft to the housing or the water is making it into the transmission and seizing it. The only way Ford prevents water from working its way into the car is with a small o-ring and a washer, which are obviously not up to the task. Anyone else have this problem?

No, but the wiper motor on my Explorer was replaced under warrenty 4 times.

Just do the wiper delete.. It really isn't THAT usefull.

Oh yes, on my 00 focus with 220kmiles on it I have removed the shaft (tapped it out) sanded it with 800grade & regreased it (MOS grease seems to work for quite a while) A new motor costs 300USD in Norway.... So thats why I keep on doing this.

I could have gotten you a new one for $72.46 exchanged.
When i wax the car i just keep the glass waxed and dont need a wiper.
