SVT w/ JRSC

Hey guys,

I am trading in my ol ZX3 at the end of the year probably to catch a SVT before they exit production as they currently are. My question is reliabitlity of a Jackson Racing Supercharger on the SVT. I know I know, I can get more power with a turbo, but thats not what I am after. My big thing is Ford offers a 100, 000 mile, 2 year warranty on this setup, but will I be doing my car serious harm after this period of time with the super charger. The last thing I want is to be screwed with broken engine parts in 2 years with no warranty. Right now the plan is to get the Car and SC on one bill (as for financing) and then after I break the motor in to install the SC from Ford. Feed back from people who actually have this setup would be awesome, re: drivability, reliabilty, etc etc.....

thanks

-Blake

Not many people around here have this setup its supposed to be extremely reliable though if you did your homework you would know the JRSC is the same kind of S/C thats run on many Mercedez-Benz cars
If your gonna put forced induction on your car expect to have problems (not saying there will be) Im sure with any form of aftermarket forced induction the car will not last as long as it normally will (if you want a car that will last 200,000 miles go get a Honda Civic)

Personally I think for the money the JRSC costs you get very very little power if I was gonna go with getting a S/C I wouldn't even bother with the Jackson it doesn't show any really large gains it supposed to make your 0-60 about .5 seconds quickers and your 1/4 about 1 second quicker to me that seems like a waste when the Vortech only costs a little bit more and gives you twice the performance

yeah, I know eaton super chargers are reliable. and like I said, I am not looking for the most power, I am well aware the vortech or one of toms kits can pump out more. I am just looking for reliability. I don't need the car to go 200k without running into engine troubles, but at least 100k would be nice

I think that the JRSC would definatly make it 100k without problems if not longer and if it does have problems im sure it wouldn't be to hard to fix

The JRSC on a SVT would be a nice setup, not as powerful obviously as a turbo but not as pricey either.

I have seen the JRSC for the SVTF for $ 2515.

I like the JRSC quite a bit myself (especially for the price) but what concerns me is upgrading it down the line when I want MORE power. There is an oversized pulley kit for it and I heard thru the rumor mill that Jackson has either developed or is developing an aftercooler/intercooler (somebody steer me straight if I'm wrong) which would help as well since cooling that charge would let you make MORE power. One point to remember though is that the current engine management that Jackson provides with the kit is almost impossible to tweak. Just my two cents..........

If your gonna want even more power do not REPEAT do not buy a JRSC just save up for the Vortech or Tom's kit
