Turbo setup

I know this has been posted before, but I kept searching and looking for it but I couldnt find it again. I wanna turbo my car at the end of this year, what should I get to set up for it? I plan on getting Toms new kit, if it's out towards the end of this year.

well obviously your going to wanna build up your internals to take the new compression. not a necessity but will be able to run higher psi if you do. make sure you have at least 2.5" exhaust all the way back, injectors etc.(not sure if tom does inj.'s for ya)

Oh no, I meant the starter kit, haha, my bad I should've specified better. I'd love the 5200 dollar one, but I'm a poor kid.

the new stage 1 kit that Tom is coming out with will run 10psi without an intercooler.... cheaper than the 5200 kit by a lot!

Where can you get a 2.5 or 3 inch exhaust for the focus? I've only seen 2.25 in my travels.

EGT guage - help tell you if you have a lean condition
Wideband A/F guage - help tell you if you have a lean condition
colder plugs - help with combustion
at LEAST 2.5" exhaust, 3" better - you don't want back pressure with turbo
93 octane gas - help with combustion
Clutch - get the power to the ground
Fuel pressure guage - if you do get a lean condition this will help determine why
oil pressure guage - oil cooled turbo with no oil is a bad thing
ignition amp - more fuel and you'll want more spark

when your turbo the key is having the right amount of fuel and spark...easier said than done.

Most of these guys are near the mark.

First off you would want either a 2.5" or 3.0" exhaust. Trubendz makes a 3.0" exhaust.

Next the throttle body and some adjustable cam gears.

Then you want an upgraded clutch. I would go with a SPEC clutch, tom likes clutchmasters.

For serious power output you would be very happy with an LSD.

Other than that with toms kit all tuning is included.

Guages etc are all up to you.
