high comp pistons

Can you run high compression pistons witha turbo kit? I have only seen low compression pistons for turbo'd foci. I think Turbo Tom mentioned this a while ago, but can'tfind where it is. thanx

You could.. but generally people lower the compression of their pistons to reduce the chances of detonation with a turbo setup. You could get higher compression pistons, but most likely you'd be endangering your engine.

From what I've read in Fast Ford, lower compression pistons are a good idea to make your engine safer, although the lower compression of course reduces power (and possibly makes it run worse on low rpm, I'm not sure though).

its all in the tune. u would need a perfect tune (more than likely a pectel) and very good gas. it wouldnt be a streetable set up and to be honest i cant see the gains being worth the $$ u would spend. its easy to make power with turbos without raising the compression thats why no one ever does, they just i/c or build the bottom end for big boost
