tension on timing belt

how much tension should the timing belt have whenever i reset my timing the tension is good but after you spin the motor a few times the tension backs off a bit. what is my problem

you're not tightening the tensioner down

after you line up the marks on the tensioner, you have to tighten it down pretty tight
