Exclamation the money pit!!

Ok. Since I got my turbo installed I have had nothing but problems. I have spent more $$$ then I would like to say. All of them have been resolved execpt these few. Any help would be appreciated.

1 - and the main problem. for about 3 weeks now i have been leaking oil. it is getting worse also. i have dropped the oil pan and resealed it, and replaced the oil filter. it looks like it is leaking around the filter area. i was told it was a oil cooler, the lines look like they may be leaking. has anyone had this problem?

2 - i cant get rid of my idle hanging. if i push in the clutch it will just hang around 2 1/5 to 3 grand untill i stop. i have tried adjusting it in a tune and it didnt change anything.

The oil leak you will just have to trace down

The high idle sounds like a Vac leak. If you have a after market TB try backing off the idle screw i have seen some cars come to me where the TB idle scwer is higher than the IAC is set and they fight each other

Try unplugging the IAC and see what happens with the idle if you have a TB adjust the idle on it and see how it does with out the IAC

oil filter leak

Hey there,

Just fixed the oil leak from my oil cooler (SC vs. Turbo, though), and would advise to check the gasket between the oil cooler and whatever is on either side of it metal-to-metal...I'm not sure of your setup.

When mine was leaking, I found that there was a missing o-ring between the oil cooler and the oil line relocation plate. Just got another oil filter that fit my car, scavenged the o-ring from the filter, and fitted between the plate and the oil cooler. No more leaks!

Best of luck...I know it can be frustrating!

where did you put this O ring at? does it go between the oil cooler and filter? and pics would be cool also.

its usually made onto the oil filter.

I agree with the vaccum leak.... I fought with my idle for months until I got everything adjusted justright.

with your car @ idle what kinda vacume do you pull on your boost gauge?

would a small exhaust leak cause my idle to hang?

I think its between 14-18 inches vaccum.

A vaccum leak would definitly cause your idle to hang.

mines @ 15-16 when im at idle. if i had a vac leak it would be much lower right?
