2 quick questions about the JRSC

1. is it a roots or twin screw type blower

2. a friend of mine was telling me about the the roots blower he had on his car saying that it had some kind of internal bypass so that while idling it, the blower won't be turning. i thought it would always be spinning but maybe i'm wrong? and if i'm wrong then in what situations does it not spin.

thanks for the help

the blower will always turn. the bypass actually looks like a small version of a throttle body. it sits between the intake manifold and the blowers inlet housing.it opens at idle and when not under boost to vent the pressure in the manifold back to the intake tract.
basically, when a boost guage is showing vacuum this valve is open or patially open. when its showing boost its closed or partially closed.

It's a roots blower also btw. The twin screws are going to found with Kenne Bell and Whipple...both of which don't make any applications for our cars.

Its a roots blower, and is always turning, there is a plenum that will kick over when you get on the throttle, 60% or more, at 5k or whatever it is, it opens and releives the boost and you return back to motor power.

Roots-type will give you an awesome feel on the street, about 2000-2500 or so the blower really kicks in;)
