nitrous on a cavalier

My best friend and roommate has a Automatic 2001 Chevy Cavalier that is stock except for a cone filter in place of the old intake box (custom job). anyways, he is thinking of getting a nitrous kit and asked me to find out what would need to be done to get it prepped so he doesnt blow his motor. any information would help......thanks

The tranny is the weak link NO more than a 50 shot. Do a wet shot, and read the nitrous sticky above ^^ it may answer a few questions.

thanks viney.......i figured his tranny would be the weak point, but wouldnt he need to run different plugs?!?! also, wouldnt he need to run higher octane. and this kit he is looking at is a dry kit......here is the link, i know nothing about nitrous so if someone could tell me what he needs to do for this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like a wet kit. And the bottle is full? If we hear of a UPS truck blowing up, we know who did it

JUst make sure you run premium gas all the time and you will be fine with a 50 shot...You can install a one heat range cooler plug if you like. It will help..make sure it has plenty of fuel and you should be fine ( wet kit ), as long as the tranny holds.
