Question Head performance.. FR vs SVT

So....

What are the differences between the two.... besides bolt pattern.

How does the SVT stack up when compared to the FR when looking at them "out of the box"

EDIT: this is just for "information only" NOT a debate, pissing contest, or who can port the guts out of one the best.

Besides when I'm ready for head work its gonna be custom....... but thats a Super Secret

what the difference between the FR and normal zetec? i think the SVT is about the same except for the intake ports(or maybe the exhaust cant remember) are a little higher up in the block for a better flow, and larger valves. im not to sure about the FR. Ray or Tom could prolly answer that one.

The intake runners on the SVT are much better and raised , The Exh port is very very close to the same as the ZX3

The SVT and ZX3 cams will not interchange but the SVT cams are much more aggressive than the ZX3

In my opinion if you have SVT stick with it , If you have ZX3 get the FR head bang for the buck its the best head on the market

I know the SVT intake valves are 1.5mm larger than the ZX3, but I wasn't sure about the rest.

Will it out perform my head no , BUT cost for performance yes

The heads im doing now are more for where the FR head leaves off and not for NA engines with many boltons or FI for 300 or less

I now doe the ZX3 , SVT and just finished the flow bench work on the 2.0 Dura and I am very pleased with all the heads we have as no one has matched our performance yet

There is no answer to that question , If anyone gives you one RUN , RUN as fast as you can

You have a long list of mods and each mod reacts Diff there is no way of telling you what your end result will be HP/TQ wise

what isnt being said is the Diff between the 28 and the 50 can be as much as 25 to 30% off or more depending on the heat in the flow bench and out side temp

The Exh side of the SVT and the ZX3 are almost exactly the same only the intake side is raised and flows better as well as the SVT has very aggressive cams

You CANNOT look at the flow numbers and say one head is better than the other , yes there both ported and both have flow numbers but it would be like saying a gude kit and my turbo kit is the same because they both make 12psi boost
