Exclamation Low Dyno results only 350fwhp.

Dyno # 40 in blue is done at 17 psi, which has an okay tune.

Dyno #39 was done at higher boost. Dyno #39 the boost accidentally spiked up to 32psi , and the car lean out to 13:1 a/f ratio , as the car was not tuned to run at that high boost level. All hp results were on 93 octane.

Anything above 20 psi did not net any good increase in hp. The car did about 318fwhp at 20psi, and 330fwhp at 25psi. The hp at 6,800 rpms at 20 psi and 25 psi was the same. The J&S did not show any detonation.

I just notice today after datalogging with the xcal 2 that the vct is always a 0. I am thinking I need to reset the vct or do the vct delete. I did see a good hp loose with the vct disconnected on the dyno ,so it might just be install to far off or something.

Car has port& polished head, stock camshafts, stock valve train, FR intake manifold, and other mods listed in my signature.

Here is a link to the 32 psi dyno run. video 1

Disconnecting the exhaust only added a few hp. Dyno not show for that run, but here is a video clip of how it sounded like. It looks like my 2.5 inch exhaust is okay for now. video2

One of the lower psi dynos. video 3

Here is a video of my car running about 19psi of boost. You can see it looses traction once the boost starts kicking in first gear, and it does not have much traction in 2nd for a few seconds. It does this at 17psi of boost now since I have tuned that boost level a little better now. video link

I am thinking either my car's vct is off alot or my car has valve float at the higher rpms since I am still using stock valve springs. Most zetec guys would of install crower springs and retainers while us svtf guys really don't have any options than doing something custom. I am going to try doing something with the vct first. If that does not work than the stiffer valve springs. Something is strange since the car made 350fwhp on 25psi before. I will post up something once I get my issues resolved. I am hoping for 370fwhp to 400fwhp once I dyno my car again with that strange issue resolved, but we will see.

Does everybody think the vct is killing my power? Any suggestions would be great.

I dont think you have any valve float

Loose the VCT , The VCT cam gear can be very tricky to install and get right sometimes , Loose the VCT and go to an ADJ cam gear with our Elim , Adj the Exh on the dyno as well as the Int cam gear and i think you will see some improvement

Tom

I will see if I can get the vct set correctly with what I have now. If it does not work out, I will be calling you Tom for that vct delete.
