custom turbo application

so i finally decided to make my own kit, as I have been a certified DSM mechanic for the past 5 years and think I ave dealt with every problem there is on a turbo car, and wanna try this a bit differently. I guess my main question is, besides a larger injector, a whole lot of piping work, and a dyno to make adjustments on, will I need to buy a new chip? is there a way to reprogram the factory, or is it pretty much inevitable i will need a new one as these didnt come turbo'd from the factory.

I would gladly ask tom these questions, but i know he is in the business of making profit and prolly doesnt wanna tell me where or how, and i understand that.

I have one other question. I noticed alot of you are running BOV from the top of the manifold, and wondered if anyone had a pic of a different setup, or if there were any premade mani's i could get my hands on instead of having to grab the ole' welder and going to work fabricating myself. I like the top design, as it seems rather efiicient, but I also like the idea of a wastegate to hide the fact its a turbo. after all, who WANTS people to know they are gonna spank em in a focus

ummm a blow off valve doesnt mount anwhare near an exhaust manifold....and ALL turbo cars have a wastegate. Weather it be internal or external. Are you sure you've had 5 years experience on turbo cars? And yes you will need larger injectors, and a chip. There are a couple of companies taht can reflash the stock PCM but your best bet is a chip tuned on a dyno. Tom sells a BEAUTIFUL manifold, contact him for details.

^^what he said.....and umm, yeah some of your post doesnt really sound like you have had 5yrs experience. the DSM's have internal wastegates built into the turbos, but the external ones are the ones you see mounted right on the exhaust manifold, its more efficient and user-controllable. the internal ones are a little harder to set to a certain boost level. Also, if your not looking to break out the welder and start fabricated as you stated, why would you want to build your own kit???? cause that EXACTLY what yo uhave to do to build your own kit
